Philosophy
The Dietrich Bonhoeffer Education Campus is a place of learning and personal development that is orientated towards the Christian values and philosophy of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. As an important theologian and committed resistance fighter against the Nazi regime, Bonhoeffer left behind an inspiring legacy that forms the basis for the educational orientation of the campus.
Holistic development
At our campus, the holistic development of our pupils takes centre stage. We emphasise close cooperation between the school, parents and pupils in order to create a supportive and nurturing environment. We are not only concerned with academic achievement, but also with social skills, teamwork and empathy.
Mission statement & values
We see it as our task to provide our students with the necessary tools and skills to accompany them on their path through life and to train them to become responsible, self-confident and empathetic members of society. In doing so, we are guided by Bonhoeffer's ideals of justice, solidarity and tolerance.
Our mission statement is based on four core values: orientation, clarity, safety and community. We offer our students orientation by providing them with Christian values and ethical principles as guidelines for their actions. We create clarity by organising the school day in a structured and transparent way, which enables pupils to focus on their learning goals. We ensure safety through a respectful and trusting atmosphere in which everyone can feel comfortable and develop. Finally, we promote community by strengthening cohesion among students, parents and teachers and working together to realise our goals.
Education
At the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Bildungscampus, we attach great importance to our pupils learning to treat each other openly and respectfully, to resolve conflicts peacefully and to take responsibility for themselves and others. We are convinced that an education in the spirit of Dietrich Bonhoeffer helps to mould our pupils into active, committed and responsible citizens who are prepared to work for a more just and peaceful world.
About Dietrich Bonhoeffer:
Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906-1945) was an influential German theologian, pastor and resistance fighter against the Nazi regime. He studied theology in Tübingen and Berlin and taught at various institutions. Bonhoeffer was a committed advocate of ecumenism and worked for the Confessing Church, which opposed the appropriation of the church by National Socialism.
As a convinced pacifist and opponent of the Nazi regime, Bonhoeffer was involved in the resistance and was involved in the planning of the assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler. He was arrested in 1943 and executed in Flossenbürg concentration camp in 1945.
Bonhoeffer's theological writings, such as "Discipleship", "Common Life" and "Ethics", had a great influence on Christian thought in the 20th century. His emphasis on faith, community, peace and social justice continues to inspire people around the world today.
